aliceCBD is a CBD store in Webb City that opened its doors on April 20, 2019, with a goal to help provide patients with an alternative to opioids, benzos, and other prescription medications.
aliceCBD was voted one of Missouri’s Best CBD Stores, being recognized for being Most Engaged. Military veteran and registered nurse Alice Mangan (pictured), who is now aliceCBD’s CEO/owner and operator, developed their unique formulation alongside a doctor and chemist and is now dedicated to educating patients about the options available to them.
After being a part of Project 4-22’s initial group of veterans to go learn about cannabis medicine in Colorado back in 2017, Mangan began hunting for terpene-rich CBD products but had disappointing results. She then decided to formulate a paste and drops with BCP, and she found it so successful in both she and her family’s health journey that she began helping friends and acquaintances. Soon, a business was born.
“I came into the retail of CBD not because I wanted to sell CBD but because I wanted to educate,” Mangan said. “My initial interest in CBD was out of concern for a family member’s dependency on opiates and an obnoxiously long medication list. From there I started helping people out of my home and as time progressed it grew into a family-owned and operated business. My two sons currently work with me in the boutique and my two daughters have been involved in the growth and development of aliceCBD. I love that I have space and ability to relate to customers on multiple levels: disabled veteran, registered nurse, female in the workplace, mother, grandmother, patient, and cannabis lover.”
Mangan told us more about how aliceCBD differs from other CBD products on the market. “I worked with a doctor and a chemist to find the right product to help get a family member off of opiates. We had already tried 4 national brands of oil and two pill forms with no success,” Mangan said. “What was hugely successful was our proprietary paste. This paste is terpene rich with cannaflavins, chlorophyll, and enzymes. Our popular salves and roll-ons are made with this concentrated hemp paste. Another competitor in our store for best selling product is our aliceCBD Drop with BCP. Highly concentrated drops with 40+ terpenes, rich in BCP and myrcene; these drops are fairly priced and accessible to the public.”
This year, Mangan hopes to expand the business, spreading awareness on the benefits of CBD even further. “We hope to get our proprietary brand in the hands of more retailers and possibly foster franchise agreements. Moreover, we plan on having more education classes about this wonderful plant.”
