Tyler Morgan is the Chairman of the Missouri Hemp Trade Association, a member-based organization that provides guidance on a range of policy issues and best practices while helping to support regional hemp business and opportunities for members.
Morgan was voted the Best Hemp Advocate in the Missouri cannabis industry by Greenway’s readers. A part of the Missouri Hemp Trade Association from the very beginning, he has led this group in becoming a powerful voice for anyone who wants to work with hemp.
Despite working full time when the Missouri Hemp Trade Association was formed, Morgan accepted the new organization’s invitation to become their Chairman. He set to work on helping to improve the state’s Pilot hemp program, an endeavor that paid off when Senate Bill 133, allowing universities in Missouri to plant hemp on a research basis, became effective on August 28, 2019. Now, Morgan looks forward to watching their organization grow with hopes that the group can hold a strong voice as they contribute to the conversation around creating a strong business and farmer-friendly program as they move into 2020.
Dedicated to creating a supportive space for members of the Missouri hemp industry, Morgan has plans to expand his efforts to create even more opportunities for his community.
“We are reaching out across state lines and working on a broader regional One Voice program that brings the strength of different associations together,” Morgan said. “As states, we have created the foundation for the industry and we need to stand together moving forward. Educational outreach is critical right now while people are getting to know this crop again. We need a strong trade association for our state as a vehicle to help bring people together with the resources they need to succeed. There is still more to do at the State and Department level to assure our success as we move forward. At the end of the day, we are all startup companies facing an exciting but unknown future. There is so much talent and individual experience here. MoHempTrade is the voice of its members and now the real work is beginning. None of us can do this on our own.”
