The Connoisseur Pack is a curated cannabis experience designed for true connoisseurs who want to discover and rate top-tier strains in a blind taste test. Each pack contains multiple strains from different cultivators, with participants judging based purely on quality—no branding, no bias, just the best flower competing head-to-head. The goal is to give patients and enthusiasts the opportunity to explore premium cannabis while also providing brands with invaluable consumer feedback.

After Local Cannabis went undefeated in the first three Flower Connoisseur Packs, we knew we had to step things up. That’s when we created the Connoisseur Pack Flower Tournament, a head-to-head competition where Missouri’s best cultivators bring their finest strains to compete for the ultimate title. Winners from each round advance to the Championship Round, where they go up against the reigning champion for a shot at the belt. The results are determined by real patient feedback, making this the most authentic cannabis competition in the state.

The Championship Round recently came to a close, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the tournament and pay respects to the incredible participants. Each round brought serious competition, with cultivators meticulously selecting their best genetics in an attempt to claim the top spot.

The Championship Contenders

Round 1 kicked things off with a battle between Camp, Amaze, Notorious, and Daybreak. Amaze took the win in this round with Sub-Zero, the highest-rated strain, earning the first slot in the Championship Round. Sub-Zero edged out some solid competition, including Notorious’ Pie-zatti, Daybreak’s AF-1, and Camp’s Biscotti Pie #6, setting the tone for the tournament.

Round 2 featured another highly competitive lineup, with Illicit, Sundro, Robust, and Cloud Cover all bringing their best. After a tight race, Sundro secured the second spot in the Championship Round with Super Buff Cherries, narrowly surpassing Illicit’s GMO Cookies, Robust’s Tahiti Lime, and Cloud Cover’s Peach Crescendo. This was another round where the results were razor-thin, proving just how dialed in these cultivators were with their selections.

The third and final qualifying round determined the last contender for the Championship Pack. This round featured Vibe, Sinse, Nuthera, and C4 in an absolute slugfest. Vibe ultimately took the win with RKO, going up against some serious competition, including Sinse’s Cap Junky, Nuthera’s Grape Cream Cake, and C4’s Lemon Drip. Every strain in this round was top-tier, and the margin of victory was insanely close, with some results separated by only a tenth of a point.

It’s been incredible to see the level of detail and care brands put into their strain selection, making this tournament as competitive as it was. But ultimately, the real winners here are the patients who get to experience these connoisseur-grade strains firsthand.

The Championship Match

After three intense rounds, we arrived at the Championship Match with four top-tier selections from four outstanding brands. Local Cannabis returned as the reigning champion, having defended their title last year with RS-11. They came back once again with RS-11 to see if they could maintain their dominance. Amaze stepped into the ring with Blue Zushi, Sundro came in with Lemon Oreoz, and Vibe brought Guava Tart to round out the competition.

Every one of these strains was fire, but Local Cannabis successfully defended their belt for the third time with RS-11, proving once again why they are the undisputed champion of the Connoisseur Pack. Coming in at a very close second—separated by just a tenth of a point—was Amaze with Blue Zushi. This flavorful indica-hybrid had connoisseurs raving about its “delicious, grapey-fruity taste with a hint of menthol on the exhale,” and its dense, purple, trichome-covered buds.

Vibe took third place with their Guava Tart, another banger of a strain. Connoisseurs noted its “pungent guava taste” with “grape and gas combo coming through heavy.” Sundro finished in fourth place with their beautifully crafted Lemon Oreoz, which earned the highest appearance rating. Connoisseurs described it as “absolutely beautiful, the trichomes are a work of art.” Others noted its “sweet, funky, and earthy tones” with a “creamy, funky, and slightly citrusy mix that comes through in the smoke.”

Final Thoughts & What’s Next

This tournament was an absolute blast, and we want to extend a massive thank you to every single brand and connoisseur who participated. This was the first time we ran the Connoisseur Pack in a tournament format, and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. So much so that we’re already gearing up for the 2025 tournament, with Round 1 set to kick off in April!

A huge shoutout to Greenlight Dispensaries for being the official Connoisseur Pack hub throughout the entire tournament. Their support and dedication to Missouri’s cannabis community have been invaluable, and we appreciate everything their staff did to help make this tournament such a success.
