A new survey from Rasmussen Reports shows that the majority of Americans supporting the national legalization of marijuana continues to climb.
The survey, which was taken between October 21 and October 24 shows 62% of American Adults in favor of legalization, an 8 percent climb over a similar survey three years prior.
Additionally, the climb in support is echoed by a decrease in opposition as the 2019 survey showed 37%Z of Americans were opposed to the legalization of marijuana, the October survey counts only 23% in opposition.
The national survey was conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC for Rasmussen and questioned 1,000 adults via phone or internet. The Survey consisted of only four questions:
1 – Do you favor or oppose the national legalization of marijuana?
2 – Should the legalization of marijuana be a federal, state or local decision?
3 – Do you live in a state where marijuana has been legalized?
4 – Have you ever smoked marijuana?
Rasmussen Reports indicates the margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. You can learn about the Rasmussen Reports methodology by clicking here.
